Seen here with Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown, Compass Compliance Officer Beth Dunlap and Outreach Specialist Samantha Walls are part of a group of healthcare advocates visiting legislators this week in Washington, D.C.
This week, Stephen “Todd” Crabtree, Board Vice Chair; Beth Dunlap, Corporate Compliance Officer; Summer Kirby, Chief Executive Officer; and Samantha Walls, Outreach and Enrollment Specialist and Advocacy Coordinator will be meeting with community health care workers from around the U.S. to discuss the future of healthcare with policy makers in the heart of our nation’s capital.
Discussions will include continued funding for CHCs, preserving expanded Medicaid, advocacy, and compliance issues, among other things. Compass has the unique opportunity of visiting with Senator Sherrod Brown, Senator Rob Portman, and Representative Brad Wenstrup and/or their legislative assistants with the OACHC delegation to discuss what their decisions mean for the patients back home in Ohio and how they can be integral in ensuring no patient is left without access to affordable quality healthcare.
In the coming days, we will be posting photos and information from the sessions we attend and ways you can help make a difference for your community health center. In the meantime, don’t forget to sign up to be a health center advocate! Also, take to Twitter and Facebook with a photo and let us know why you #valueCHCs. Don’t forget to tag us and your legislators. Those who participate and show the most influence on Twitter will receive national recognition.
